Meet Lauren Schechter

You are here because you want something to change. Maybe you are feeling stuck or uncertain about the direction of your life. Maybe you want to improve your relationships—with others or with yourself. You are ready to do the work but need some support and a thought partner to help guide the way. That is where Lauren comes in.

Lauren's unique combination of three master’s degrees supports her skillset of critical thinking, problem-solving, empathy, and emotional intelligence. She has a fresh perspective on therapy. She believes that acknowledging life’s challenges is the first step toward growth, and understanding their deeper origins gives you the awareness and control to navigate them.

Approach & Style

Lauren’s approach to therapy is both supportive and challenging. She works to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can explore what is happening in your life, uncover patterns, and gain clarity about your thoughts and emotions. Guided by trauma-informed psychodynamic work and systemic therapy, she will help you connect your experiences to deeper insights while equipping you with tangible tools and strategies for meaningful change.

She wants you to share your goals and objectives so that together you can craft a plan for how to achieve them most effectively and efficiently.

She believes that recognizing difficulties in your life is one of the first steps towards growth and change, but understanding why the difficulty is occurring in the first place brings your awareness and level of control to a whole other level.
